Jermain Defoe made history in this incredible game becoming only the 4th player for Spurs to score 5 goals in a competitive game and the first player in the Premier League to hit 5 goals in one half of football to help Spurs to their biggest win in over 30 years and it was only 1 0 at half time! It was a day to remember for all those who braved the winds at The Lane as the team put on a devastating display to brush aside the Latics. Defoe was the hero with his goal scoring exploits but Aaron Lennon was also instrumental in the victory setting up 3 and getting on the score sheet as well. With performances like this one the sky is the only limit for Harry Redknapp's side this season which seems to be ever improving.
