The new Coventry Cathedral is a symbol of reconciliation so there could be no better place than this to host a concert devoted to Christmas carols with their message of goodwill to all men. The programme is ingeniously planned to provide a potted history of the Christmas carol from the dark ages to today. This Christmas celebration recorded at Coventry Cathedral on December 3 1994 features Dame Kiri Te Kanawa baritone Michael George and trumpeter Jouko Jarjanne. The Choirs of Coventry and Lichfield Cathedrals and the BBC Philharmonic are conducted by Robin Stapleton.
